I saw my first clear toy candy mold about 17 years ago and from that day I was hooked. I had always been interested in how things used be done so when I moved to Pennsylvania I started volunteering at the Schneck House in Schnecksville, PA. From there I started making the candy for historic societies, collecting molds and restoring candy equipment. You can see event photos here. I focus on items from the Philadelphia area.
Today I have an extensive collection of clear toy candy molds (close to 500) and other vintage candy making items. I am working to preserve the history of clear toy candy and the Thomas Mill & Bros company (manufacturer of clear toy candy molds and candy making equipment). I did a museum exhibit at Pennypacker Mills with some of my candy making items. You can see photos here.
I am not a business, this is a hobby for me. I do not have a store front. I do sell candy during the holiday season at the local historic societies. Please check my calendar for upcoming events.
Full time I own Buglady Consulting, working to help solve commercial growers insect problems.
Please contact me if you are interested in me speaking to your group or demonstrating how to make clear toy candy.
